Big Media don´t want to miss the podcasting bandwagon

In his recent podcast episode, the Canadian professor Harold Boeck of Sherbrooke University looks at the huge number of podcasts being greated by radio and TV stations in France and tries to explains why traditional broadcasters are adopting podcasting so aggressively. The main reasons he provides are:

1. Because they can do it, in terms of content and resources

2. Rather than being left behind, as was the case with internet and the music industry, big media are seeking to adapt themselves to the evolution of the market

3. To re-establish contact with the audience they lost as part of the on-line revolution

4. To experiment with new media and generate market research

5. To provide their advertisers with greater value
